ASHEVILLE AREA AND BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS

Chimney Rock Park - Whitewater Rafting - Horeback Riding
From fine dining to fly fishing, from antiquing to golf Western North Carolina has it all. They say location is everything. We'll let you be the judge. Since Ponder Cove is just off the new Interstate 26 (old 19/23) it is our good fortune to be close to Asheville with its inviting shops, galleries and great restaurants but also the many attractions of the Blue Ridge Mountains. So, come to Ponder Cove and let Mother Nature restore your spirit and then venture out and take advantage of one of the many offerings provided by these breathtaking Blue Hills.
Fine Dining
A trip to Western North Carolina is not complete without a trip to Asheville, and a tour of the Biltmore Estate. The Biltmore Estate is legendary as the home of George Washington Vanderbilt III. It is the biggest house in the United States. (No it is not Hearst Castle.) You will be astounded by the flowers in spring, the festivals in the summer and the House dressed in its Christmas best is unforgettable. The city of Asheville itself boasts of many fine shops, galleries, theaters and restaurants.
Arts and the Symphony
From the newcomers that have been called to these hills to those who landed at birth, you will find a prideful spirit represented through the arts. The music scene offers everything from mountain music to accompany the clogging tradition of Western North Carolina to a world class symphony in residence in Asheville. Asheville is the home of Belle Chere, the largest outdoor music festival in the south.
North Carolina Golfing

And of course don't leave your clubs behind. If golf is your game we can get you onto the links at Wolf Laurel a private club but one that welcomes Ponder Cove guests.

Come to Western North Carolina. Embrace our Asheville, our Biltmore Estate, our mountains, our lakes and waterfalls. Enjoy our Madison County, the Jewel of the Blue Ridge, known for its farmlands and hamlets, rushing rivers, abandoned tobacco barns and self-reliant local folk.

But then again you could come and do absolutely nothing but take a load off--no better place to do it than Ponder Cove.
