ARTS AND CRAFTS

North Carolina is a mecca for noted craft artists. Many world class artisans are hiding in these hills and it is our pleasure while visiting Ponder Cove to introduce you to some of our favorites. Of course we would start with our own resident furniture maker and co-innkeeper Gary Rawlins. Note Gary’s cabinet front and center in the gallery below.

Tom Turner is considered to be one of the most renown porcelain craftsmen in the world. Now residing in Madison County it is our honor to introduce you to him and the opportunity to take home an amazing example of his work.	Gary Rawlins is quoted as saying “I love wood” on more than one occasion. Once you view Gary’s fine craftsmanship you will agree his embrace of nature’s artwork is awe inspiring.	Mark Peyton admits he has been influenced by his 60’s hipster days”. But he is also influenced by the many places he’s lived, from Florida to Peru to Puerto Rico. You can see his travels as well as his “hipness” through the richness of his work.
