Enjoy Asheville

Asheville Anyway You Like It.

Asheville definitely has a mojo all of its own. The vibe is right up there with Portland and Austin, a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll. This town has it all. Not sure what the “it” is but I guess you could call it personality. Looking for good food, fun people, great music, amazing galleries, gorgeous scenery….pinch me. I live here!

Dining Out

If you are a true foodie you will certainly enjoy our food scene. Recently our very own Twelve Bones (the best Bar-B-Q outside of Memphis) was visited for the 2nd time by President Obama.  Sunnyside Cafe was the Good Morning America’s runner up for the best breakfast in town. And if that wasn’t enough the Jacob Sessoms of Table was nominated for a James Beard Award.

Craft

Asheville is home to many world renown craft artisans. You will be amazed at the quality of fine craft in any of the myriad of galleries. Whether you are looking for that one of a kind rocking chair by Ponder Cove’s own Gary Rawlins or a timeless piece of porcelain by our friend Tom Turner you are destined to go home with a treasure.

The Biltmore

Asheville’s true claim to fame is America’s largest home resting on 8000 acres, the Biltmore, home of George Vanderbilt. This incredible chateau is perched high over looking our blue ridge mountains.

Ask about INNKEEPER tickets offered at Ponder Cove, good for 2 full days.

Arboretum

The North Carolina Arboretum offers an intimate connection with plants in personal ways that are as diverse and rich as the land itself. Whether you enjoy strolling through gardens, exploring exhibits, enriching your mind or hiking and biking, the Arboretum offers activities for all ages.
