LOVE is still on a roll at Ponder Cove

The past four couples have either gotten engaged or married while visiting us here at Ponder Cove.  Melissa and Adam came up from the Bungalow just this morning to announce their engagement. It looks to me like we are the  destination for your romantic getaway. So gals….grab those guys and I’ll blast the Beyonce…”if you like it then put a ring on it..uh uh oh..uh uh oh”.

I thought just the flowers were blooming…HECK NO…it’s LOVE. You won’t believe this bit of serendipity. Ok….I obviously knew John and Alexa were tying the knot on Friday at the Cove as I was throwing the wedding.

Then Scott gives a call and makes a reservation letting the cat out of the bag that he was proposing to Christa just before their arrival.

Well, we got up on Sunday morning and the third couple in the house…Brent and Ashley come down all beaming with news. He had just proposed to Ashley. Now how is that for a coincidence not to mention a wonderful story for me to tell.

So, Gary and I along with the Ponder Cove posse wish you the best of everything in your coming years together. xxoom

Congrats to Alexa and John

Oh my …did we have fun yesterday. It was our privilege to help tie the knot for Alexa and John. The bride looked divine in her  chiffon gown with v neck. The bodice of the dress was accented by a cummerbund giving the effect of an empire waist. Accessorized by a hat redesigned from one of her moms with pearls encased within the veil to set off the lovely strand around her neck.

The groom wore a stunning black suit. But I must say he was a bit upstaged by his groomsmen Shadow and Odin. As the “boys” preferred black tie for such a momentous occasion.

Paula and Clay Tie the Knot

Is this not the most scrumptious couple. We had a ball watching these two, seal the deal. There was no denying the thrill of it all. We wish them well and can’t wait to see these two again. If you want to share in their big day enjoy their pics. We love you two. xxoo

To quote their vows…penned by themselves, “It is not only marrying the right partner, but being the right partner.” I do believe that sums it up. These two certainly deserve each other in the most  joyous of ways.

So, let’s just say this marriage has the official Ponder Cove seal of approval.

Congratulations on your Wedding Day

Apologies to Brad and Donna for being so far behind with my  postings. We were so fortunate to host their wedding on New Years 2010. As you can see the bride was beautiful and the groom handsome. Enjoy their album and you will see for yourself. It was truly a special affair as we watched them say their I DO’s. After sealing the deal the took for for a  big night on the town to ring in the New Year in Asheville.

Congratulations to Joe and Julia. How lucky for us to witness a beautiful ceremony and hear another heart warming story…..a perfect beginning to a thankful Holiday Season.

Joe and Julia have known each other since first grade. Each went on to fulfilling lives after marrying high school sweethearts (not each other). Joe and Julia lost their spouses after 40 years of marriage. Joe surprised Julia with a big hug in a grocery story which took her quite by surprise. As he said to her “you don’t recognize me, do you?” Well three years later, the rest is history. They were happily married yesterday at Ponder Cove. We wish them so much love and luck.

Stay tuned, we are hosting another fab wedding today. The love stories keep coming to Ponder Cove. This time, 70 years young…known each other since first grade. Both looking beautiful and ready to say I do. Right now they are tucked away in the French Broad room getting ready…..Pics to follow….this is too much fun.

TA DA! Another smashing wedding here at the cove. As you can see Jessica was stunning in her breen (brown/green) gown, blending beautifully with our end of season colors.

Not only was Rick color co-ordinated beautifully but do you see the groomsman peaking between their legs? That is Magoo dressed in his lovely brown coat.  If you can’t see him I know you can see his tongue. He was not only the perfect  groomsman but he was the perfect PC guests.

Meet the Richardson’s. Two and a half years ago on July 14, 2007  David and Carrie showed up at Ponder Cove to be married. We had such fun watching this couple say their “I DO’S” with love in their hearts as it was reflected in their obvious devotion to each other. This was a love affair of divine intervention for sure. Their relationship had begun in New Orleans, then a little thing called Katrina and a war in Iraq separated the pair. But as in all good love stories fate took hold and they found each other again. Even though they had to live in two separate cities for months they persevered and their bond stood the test of time and distance as we witnessed on their wedding day.

Now fast forward to this weekend when David and Carrie showed up to get a chill on here at the cove and to share with us the most amazing news. PONDER COVE has a baby. That’s right, they conceived on their wedding night and 9 months to the date gave birth to a divine little girl…no, they did not name her Ponderetta. Although David did confess if it had been a boy perhaps they would have named him Ponder.

So, when you ask why in the world do people want to be innkeepers just remember David and Carrie. That is reason enough for us.
