We are located centrally, which allows you to take advantage of the many offerings of our area, while on vacation in Western North Carolina. To our South we are a mere 30 minutes from Asheville, the home of The Biltmore, fine dining and world-renowned galleries. East of us you will find the town of Burnsville, its enchanting shops and Town Square, known for hosting everything from silent movies to one of the areas largest arts festivals. West will take you to the town of Mars Hill and Mars Hill College. Continue West and land in Marshall on the banks of the mighty French Broad River. Hot Springs is the last stop on our Western North Carolina tour where the Appalachian Trail follows right down Main Street and is home to the Natural Springs made available by the Hot Springs Spa.
To get to Ponder Cove DO NOT USE MAPQUEST, YAHOO, GOOGLE OR YOUR OWN GPS SYSTEM. THEY WILL TAKE YOU TO LOWER PONDER BRANCH WHICH IS INCORRECT.
There are many airports within driving distance, Asheville, Knoxville, Kingsport, TN, Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC.
DRIVING From 1-26 West approaching Asheville. Take Exit marked (240E/26W) towards
Johnson City. Then take the 4A Exit towards Weaverville continuing on the 19/23 North/26West.Go past Weaverville, Barnardsville and Mars Hill to Exit 9 take a right towards
Burnsville. Go 4.2 miles. You will pass two churches on the right. The next landmark is the white house with red roof with red barn with tin roof. Take the next right on
Bethel Road
, which passes behind
Bethel
Church. Take the 1st right at
Ponder Creek Road
and go one mile. You will see the large black mailbox with 1067 on it. Take a left into drive next to little yellow farm house and follow gravel road up to the top. The drive is 1/2 mile. There we will be. Note the little farm house is the Bungalow. Its drive is the next one on left.

From "up yonder" (above east Tennessee) Get onto I-81 S until you reach I-26 E via exit number 57A towards
JOHNSON CITY.
From Johnson City, TN take the I-26 East and pass over the North Carolina State line. There are two exit 9s. Make sure you pass the one in Tennessee.Continue across the North Carolina border and then take exit 9 going towards Burnsville. (DO NOT TAKE EXIT 9 IN TENNESSEE.)Go 4.2 miles. You will pass two churches on the right. The next landmark is the white house with red roof with red barn with tin roof. Take the next right on Bethel Road, which passes behind Bethel Church. Coming from Burnsville, NC follow Rt. 19 West out of Burnsville for approximately 9 miles. Do not take the right hand turn to old Rt. 19 that you will be offered. Proceed until you see the Ivy Gap Baptist Church on the right. The next major landmark is a very colorful salvage yard on the right featuring claw foot tubs. Immediately look left and take a left at Bethel Rd. Take an immediate right on Ponder Creek Road and go one mile. Note mailbox on the right marked 1067. Take a left into drive next to little yellow farm house and follow gravel road up to the top. If your destination is the Bungalow take the next drive on left.
From Knoxville,TN Follow I 40 east towards Asheville. Pick up the 70 taking you through Newport, Tn. Then to Hot Springs, NC.Follow the 25/70 until you get to the 213 turn off to Mars Hill. Go through Mars Hill and get on the I-26 North towards Johnson City.Take the next exit which is #9 towards Burnsville.Go 4.2 miles. You will pass two churches on the right.
