I can put a smile on your face. My recipes have been featured in Western North Carolina Woman Magazine, Joan Mendlicott's book At Home in Covington, and the North Carolina Bed and Breakfast Cookbook.
I like to cook and came across it naturally learning country cooking from my Nannie Bess. My style became a little fancier as I was introduced to fine cuisine traveling for the Fashion Industry and living in San Francisco, LA and New York. Although I have been influenced, I am still a country cook.

Bob Garner, known restaurant critic, spent a night at Ponder Cove to review and enjoy a breakfast for the PBS show, North Carolina Weekend. Although Bob’s specialty is North Carolina barbeque, he obviously was no stranger to French toast as he smacked his lips and sang ”mmmmmmm . . . I’ve tasted apple French toast before but Martha’s version raises the bar.” Thanks, Bob!
