I like to cook (and eat) and came across it naturally learning country cooking from my Nannie Bess. My style became a little fancier as I was introduced to fine cuisine traveling for the fashion industry and living in San Francisco, LA and New York. Let’s just say I discovered life beyond black-eyed peas. Although I have been influenced, I am still a country cook.
Bob Garner, known restaurant critic, spent a night at Ponder Cove to review and enjoy a breakfast for the PBS show, North Carolina Weekend. Although Bob’s specialty is North Carolina barbecue, he obviously was no stranger to French toast as he smacked his lips and sang ”mmmmmmm . . . I’ve tasted apple French toast before but Martha’s version raises the bar.” Thanks, Bob!
