Flan cake
- 1 box devils food cake mix (I am going to try spiced cake next time)
- 1 jar Smucker's caramel topping
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 eggs
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a bundt pan with Pam. Soften the caramel in the microwave and pour into pan.
Prepare cake mix according to directions. Pour the cake batter into the cake pan over the topping.
Make the flan by pouring condensed, evaporated and fresh milk into a blender with the cream cheese, vanilla and eggs. Pour very slowly over the cake batter. Spray aluminum foil with Pam and cover the pan TIGHTLY.
Set the pan into a much larger pan and place in oven. Carefully pour hot water into the larger pan to a depth of 2 inches.
Bake for 2 hours. NEVER UNCOVER. Pull out of oven and let sit for 15 minutes. Peel off foil and invert onto a large plate
letting caramel drip down sides. Cool completely then refrigerate.
Even though you put the flan in last, it sinks. So when it is completely ready for your guilty pleasure it will be a coating of caramel on top of the flan and the scrumptious cake.
